Blank icons on home screen

Hello:

My chromebook has been randomly havng the following issue:

On the home screen where the frequest websites show as icons that can be clicked on, the icons will go blank and be unable to be clicked on.

This will also affect links in any website, so when a link does not work I go to my home page and notice my icons are all blank.  To clear it I have to turn the laptop on and off.

My best guess when this started happening was from a website I stream TV shows that may have been compromised.

Is there anyway to see if it is a "virus" on chromebook or how to solve this?

Thanks for helping.

You may check by resetting your browser.

    Reset your browser settings

    1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu
    2. Select Settings.
    3. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
    4. Under the section "Reset settings,” click Reset settings.
    5. In the dialog that appears, click Reset.

If the issue still persists, you may go ahead and perform power wash.

Please not that all data will be erased during rest

You can also reset your Chromebook to its original factory state from the sign-in screen by pressing Shift + Ctrl + Alt + R and clicking Restart.
