I have an ACER 603G UW31 and the hard drive crashed. I would like to install a new drive.

I have a 603G UW31 and the hard drive crashed. I don't have a windows 8 disk but I do have a windows 7 pro that I have not used yet.  If I install a new blank hard drive, can I use windows 7?

Acer does not recommend altering the factory shipped Operating System.Changing the Operating System may cause driver conflicts.

The best option is to restore the same operating system shipped with your computer.
Acer support site does not have driver from windows 7 operating system

You may get the recovery media from Acer store. It will install the Operating System, all the pre-installed Software and the drivers of your system.

If you have a unit from US or Canada, you may purchase the recovery disc from Acer store : Acer Store
If you have a unit from US or Canada, you may also live chat with an Acer technician at : Acer live chat
If you have purchased the computer in any other country, you may contact Acer support here : Acer Global Support

Thank you for the quick response.  As I said in my post, the hard drive crashed.  If I purchase this recovery disc from ACER, will it install Windows 8.1 on the new blank hard drive that I have installed in the computer?
