Card Insert for Aspire M3450

This should have been easy. I bought the firewire card and know where to install. Problem is that I can't seem to find the release for the metal place holder insert. Acer help line was useless. It's not in the user manual. Anyone have docs/instructions on this?

Thanks, DMA

If I remember right, you would need a screw driver and pry it off. That piece is part of the frame and they make it to where it would pop out with pressure. A LOT of pressure sometimes. Be careful though. You don't want to damage anything else on the computer.

Inward or outward? I tried popping it out but it wouldn't budge.

ok, did you take the side panel off of the computer and take the wing off? after that, there should be covers that either slide off or pop out. Need to know where you are in the process.

Yes. Easily removed exterior panel and flipped open the "wing" that holds the plates in. But after that, couldn't seem to find a way to make them slide or pop out of position.

ok. now, take the "butt" of the screwdriver and from the OUTSIDE-IN, give it 1 good hit.

Got it. Computer is fine, but cut my fingers trying to snap the metal connectors. Who's idea was that anyway? Punch outs work for game pieces but are a really dumb idea for computer parts. Thanks for your help.
