Pound Sign on US Keyboard

Hi,

I have an S7-392 with a US keyboard. I'm loving the laptop but can't work out how to type a "£" sign easily.

It is possible by switching to a UK keyboard and hitting shift+3 but I would rather not have to switch keyboard while typing.

I have also read it is possible to use ALT+0163 but this does not seem to do anything.

Any suggestions???

Thanks,

John

To type '£' sign using your keyboard, you can surely press Alt+0163 keys. The point here to note is you need to press 0,1,6,3 keys by using your Numpad instead of pressing them from the keys row where your Backspace button is placed. Also, while doing this, your Num Lock should be enabled.

    Hope this will help you.

Thanks for your reply GuruAid-CS. Maybe that is the problem, the Acer Aspire S7 does not have a seperate numpad or a numlock key - it just has a row of number keys. In fact these are shared with the function keys. The default use is as number keys so it should follow that pressing the ALT key and 0163 would produce a pound sign but it sadly does not.

As the issue still persists, you can try doing one more thing. Keep Fn+Alt keys pressed and then press the number keys 0,1,6,3.

If the issue still persists, it is recommended to contact Acer support for assistance using the following link:
