ICONIA W700 Screen is unresponsive to touch and the mouse position

I use WORD and ADOBE Acrobat Reader but I find that the screen doesn't recognise when I'm touching it and it doesn't pick up the mouse cursor. This makes it impossible to control the apps - and very frustrating - in any meaningful way.

Scroll bar arrows, for example, don't "know" they've been touched and when I want to resize a panel, the system doesn't "know" or sense that the mouse cursor is on a panel border.

It makes the system basically unsuable. And drives me mad.

acer would first suggest a system restore if you know how to do that.

They would also suggest in the settings someone to calibrate the screen (i forget if its in windows 8 pc settings or the classic control panel on the desktop.

I have a w700p, and its been unresposive at times....annoyingly a system resotre has helped.  might also try doing windows updated.

I have not had an issue with the mouse though...calibrate could help.

You do have the option of going to a windows store.  even though they don't make the acer, they have helped me with mine in the past
