Windows doesn't 'start services' after erecovery discs used

I have a Gateway model DX-4850-45 running Win 7. It kept crashing and I used the erecovery discs to help solve the problem. The c:\backup was created and the recovery process continued until the final step when the system tried to 'Start Windows Services. It tried for several hours but never completed. I shutdown and restarted and I get the same notification about starting windows services. What do I do now?. It seems my computer is past the warranty date and I can't get support without paying for it. So much for "Customer Service"

Try running the recovery again, and see if you get the same result. If not, are you able to boot into Safe mode?
