I recently purchased an Acer model A!-840-18N3 tablet. I am installing a blue tooth keyboard (K1280 BT). Went to settings, and turned blue tooth on. Turned on keyboard. The tablet recognized it, told me to type "955554 <enter>" which I did. It then listed the keyboard as a paired device. But when I try to type with it, the virtual keyboard appears but the blue tooth keyboard does not work. Thank you for any help!

Also: When I clicked on key board under paired blue tooth devices, there is a check box for "input device", which I checked.

In researching this problem with installing a bluetooth keyboard, I'm starting to believe that the A1-840-18N3 is an orphan product! Costco offered it at what seemed like a good price during their Black Friday type sale and they sold it out. Costco only offered it during the sale and now does not carry it. The Acer page about it seems to have been deleted! Amazon has a page on it but apparently they never received or sold any and now the page says they may never have it available! No one else either sells it or has ever sold any except a few places that apparently are resellers from the Costco sale.

Does this mean Acer no longer supports this product concerning making it keyboard Bluetooth functional? The ad for it says that it has bluetooth capabilities but the online manual says the only bluetooth functionality currently is with headphones but not keyboards. I would not have bought it if I had known this! What are my options?

You should be able to use a bluetooth keyboard with your A1-840. You won't be able to use a USB keyboard though. When you enable the bluetooth on your tablet it should find the keyboard and let you pair it.

Thank you, Ace Pioneer, for responding. I turned on the blue tooth in settings on the A1-84--18N3. Under "Paired Devices" it shows an icon for a keyboard and lists K1280 BT Keyboard (the only item listed). If I turn the keyboard on, then the word "Connected" appears by the keyboard name. If I turn the keyboard off, the word "connected" disappears.

So the A1-840 is seeing the keyboard. But if I try to type with the keyboard, the virtual keyboard appears and works but the blue tooth keyboard does not.

    Am I missing something?
