No Boot Device

This is my story

I replaced the power jack on an Aspire 5750, and after replacing the laptop will charge as the indicator light will change.

I took it to a repair store and they said the motherbaord was fried.

Ordered new mobo, and they called me back and said that mobo was also bad

picked up laptop, got into my van pressed power on button, and laptop fired up just to say no boot device found.

After taking apart again found the power switch cable was lose, there is a black clip taht is supposed to hold it tight to the mobo.

In the meantime I had bought a replacement laptop for my wife as the original is hers, same spec. Removed the HDD from orignal laptop (laptop A) put it in new laptop (laptop B) everything is working fine.

Put HDD from laptop B into laptop A, laptop message "No Boot Device"  Even Bios does not see HDD.

Put original HDD back into laptop A and everything is fine, windows boots up no problem. which might mean the cables and everything is fine.

Now I might think original HDD from laptop B is bad.  No because when I put it into laptop A, It boots windows 7 not problem.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    Thanks for your input.

What I am saying is that one hdd works in an aspire 5750 laptop, but it is not seen by another laptop with the same specification.

I would have though it is the hdd that is bad, but for the fact that it works in another lapttop,

Now is it a laptop problem, maybe not, why because when I put in its original Hdd, it works.  (This one actually came with the laptop.)
