If u want to dual-boot android on ur device, u have to wait for some time. Because a team is developing android dual-boot for windows devices. Also they will give their beta release if u support them for their project. Website http://consoleos.com/.

Otherwise u can use bluestacks for using android apps http://onhax.net/bluestacks-app-player-pro-0-9-1-4/ along with apex launcher (for lagless use).

Yeah will try asap. Will let u know how it runs without install. But before I do this, do I have to do anything in the UEFI settings of windows 8.1?

nothing new under the sun, half of the hardware will not work, expecially the power and thermal management.

    Not working in my w510...

I tried the first (live boot) and third (installation) options. Nothing happened on selecting them other than a black screen with a cursor on top left appears and stays (for 10-15 mins).

AFAIK all Acer Clover Trail and Bay Trail devices require UEFI/GPT to boot. I see no mention of that at http://www.android-x86.org/.

In the video it looks like Rufus is being used to create a GPT boot and the Switch 10 (if that is the device used) is able to disable the UEFI signature checking.

    Hello,

    I have many Acer switch 10 E (SW3-013-12U1) , 32Go ... 15Go free on windows 10 with 2 accounts and no apps.

I want (have to) add Android partition (5Go) like http://www.android-mt.com/tutoriel/installez-dual-boot-android-4-4-2-kitkat-tablette-windows-8-1-28504

I have put a Superviser password, disable secureboot, change Boot order like USB/CD/Windows .

I have take Android Kit Kat on https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/android-4.4.2r1-ia2

I have try Unetbootin and Win32DiskImager , on a flashdrive or on a hardisk and ... I always have :

"System doesn't have any USB boot option. Please select other boot option in Boot Manager Menu."

I don't understand why ... I know Bluestack/Genymotion to emulate but I want have Android dual boot to have all apps android, more speed, comparaison to education, etc

Excuse my bad english, I'm french teacher and I only use english on computer forum Smiley Wink

If we can put dualboot windows10/android on Switch10E ... it rock !

    Please..

The issue is the UEFI BIOS, which only allows booting from a signed image. You will ave to disable that before you can boot something other than Windows.

I can't disable EUFI boot easly...

    I have put a supervisor password, I disable secure boot ... but I can't disable UEFI (I don't see this option like http://community.acer.com/t5/2014-Archives/pxe-boot-a-aspire-switch-10/td-p/272152# )

The only action possible is to activate secure boot and autorize all .efi (I don't know what it is ....).

In menu Security, I see :

    - Secure boot mode : standard (no another choice)

    - Erase all secure boot setting (erase all content in secure four variables PK, KEK, db and dbx)

    - Select an UEFI file as trusted for executing (when this option is selected, users may select all available .efi in FAT32 partitions and add the .efi hash into secure DB)

    - Restore secure boot to factory default

I need the way ... please SOS Smiley Happy

you can't disable UEFI on Switch10 or 10E.

you can only disable secure boot and clear all secure boot keys.

you need a good EFI x86 (32bit) signed file to boot, so it's not easy.

    have a good read:

    http://www.jfwhome.com/2014/03/07/perfect-ubuntu-or-other-linux-on-the-asus-transformer-book-t100/

i booted a live USB android flash drive months ago but android ran so badly that it's not worth even try it.
