I have an Acer Aspire M5-581T. I purchased it directly from Acer. This was a settlement based on a class action suit. I was required to buy a refurbished. As such I did not receive my Restore disk, or anything else in the package, although I paid additional cash around $195 on top of the allowance.
I am now receiving a message that my "computer needs repair" with a File:/BCD and Error code : 0xc000000d.
Basically, my operating system appears to be "gone". I have called and searched for help, but short of paying $99 per half an hour to someone in India to fix it, I have found no help. Should I not be able to receive a restore disk from Acer?
Acer's website will not even give an option to talk to anyone. All I get is "your warranty expired on 3/12/2013. I did not even own this laptop then!
Any help or suggessions will be greater appreciated.
