Aspire model number V3-472P-324J - Can a DVD or Bluray burner be installed in this system?

I bought this system at Best Buy, open box special, and the customer service rep and I both spent some time trying to get the drive bay door open, I figured it was stuck and worst case I would just install a replacement if it was broken. Got home, took the screw out and lo and behold, no drive in there. Was a cheap plastic insert in the drive bay with a bezel on it, they even got cute and put a button on the bezel that you could push like there was a drive in there! In an online chat with tech support, I was told they hadn't tested this model with a DVD burner in it, and she couldn't even tell me if you could install a DVD/Bluray drive in it or not - said that information was not in their tech support database !

After doing a search here at the community, I get the impression that you can buy one and put one in, but not sure on this. The little plastic insert with a bezel trick makes me leery of this now. So, I need a firm confirmation, can a DVD or Bluray burner be installed in this thing?

Also, in the posts I saw that indicated it would support an optical drive, they said you want a 9.0mm thickness drive. I did a search on Amazon, I am finding 9.5mm Bluray drives, haven't found a 9.0mm one though. If it will even support a DVD/Bluray drive, which is it, 9.0mm or 9.5mm thickness optical drive? Thank you for any assistance you can give on this matter.
