Open windows are rearranged after I wake computer from a "monitor-off" state

I've got a bunch of monitorss, and everything worked perfectly until I threw my new 4K acer monitor into the mix:

I have an XFX R9-290X
Intel Core i5-3570K
MSI Z77A-G45
and a bunch of monitors hooked up with DVI and HDMI
The 4K Acer is hooked up to the dedicated 290X via displayport

The problem I have: I have my computer set to turn off my monitors after 15 minutes, and when I wake my computer up, I hear Windows play the "hardware disconnected" sound, and all my open programs have been rearranged.

This problem does not occur if I have the Acer monitor unplugged. I have tried the latest video driveers, as well as BETA drivers. I have tried disabling DDC on the monitor.

I need a solution, considering this is a $600 monitor, I did not expect such a huge problem. This severely impacts my productivity.

    DrNicT61,

I can see how that would affect your productivity. Have you tried just having the 4k Acer monitor connected and allow it to go to sleep and see if you get the same results? The problem may not be the monitor but how the operating system is resuming/powering up each monitor and the order.

If the mointor works fine alone when resuming, then its not an issue with the monitor.
