Battery detection problem aspire v3-771G

Hello, I have a few problems atm with my Acer Aspire v3-771G.

First off my laptop won't detect my battery even though when I unplug it from the power it will keep on running on the battery. Is there a fix for this or do I have to send my battery back?

Now for my second problem, I installed windows 8 on this laptop and now I can't use wifi on it. I installed the Wireless LAN_Atheros_10.0.0.217.v3_W8x64_A.zip file to get the drivers to work but it still says that the wifi is turned off. How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure your wireless is enabled using FN + F3. If you go back to Windows 7, does the battery and wireless work correctly? Acer recommends using the Acer upgrade assistant at http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows8-upgrade. If your battery or wireless still do not work running Acer's OEM version of Windows 7, you would need to contact technical support for your region.

The problem was on windows 7 as well. That was the reason I upgraded in the first place. The wifi problem is solved but the FN+F3 shortcut to the launcher manager doesn't work like it did in Windows 7.
