How to keep Bluetooth speaker "connected" to my Aspire S3?

Aspire S3-391-9606 (functions perfectly in all other respects)

Windows 7 Home Premium

Computer Bluetooth settings - discoverable

Hardware = Atheros/Qualcomm

Driver = 10.0.0.276

1. Yamaha Bluetooth speaker, model NX-B02

2. Brick Bluetooth speaker

3. Plantronic Bluetooth headset

4. Bluetooth mouse

Bluetooth mouse works perfectly.

After pairing any Bluetooth speaker or headset with the laptop, it works until one or the other is shut down. Then, to get a connection I must REMOVE and RE-PAIR the speaker.

Surely that's not part of the Grand Plan. What's wrong?

Thanks!
