LumiRead external SD card multiple folders

I have an Iconia a500 tablet. I use LumiRead. I recently started moving my books to an external SD card. The method I used is to connect the tablet to my Windows PC with USB and drag the books over to the external card. This has somehow created eight (8) "LumiBooks" folders on the external card. I also have seven (7) "LOST" folders on the card. I'm lost. What's going on here? What am I doing wrong?

Additional info (11/2/2014): When I look at the SD card under Ubuntu (linux) I only see one "LumiBooks" and one "LOST" folder. It seems like Windows is doing something weird when displaying the folders on the SD card. The problem is that I don't know which LumiBook "folder" to put new files in using Windows.

The workaround is that when I'm using Windows to put new books in my LumiRead, I need to put them in the LumiBooks folder in internal memory, and then use my tablet file manager to move them to the SD card.

Fixed the problem: I unmounted the SD card. When I put the SD card in my laptop, the extra folders did not appear. Then I put the SD card back into the tablet, connected the tablet to my Windows computer, and the extra folders had gone away. I have no idea what caused Windows Explorer to see extra folders in the first place, but the "fix" seems to be to unmount the SD card and remount it. Go figure.
