This machine Acer Aspire Z5760 came preconfigured with a c: drive "Acer" and a d: drive "data".

How should I use this? What is it tht is intended to be achieved by this configuration.

I note that each is given with a size of 456 Gigabytes in this case.

I guess the main reason for this question relates to my approach to a backup strategy.

C: Acer is usually where the OS is installed

D: Data is where you can store your personal files

so if your OS will not boot and have to format the C: partition, your files will be safe.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
