Acer Switch 10 with Windows 8.1 - bluetooth connection works ONLY IF pc is connected to wifi network

Hi there!

Briefly, I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.

The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

Before to realize the dependence from the wifi connection, I tried to solve the problem following the steps suggested here:

http://wind8apps.com/bluetooth-windows-8-1-update/

and updating the bt driver downloaded from the ACER Drivers and Manuals webpage. However, the installation procedure were interrupted as the installed bt driver appears to be "later".

Can anyone of you help me with such an issue?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Danilo

    DeeShell,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with the Bluetooth functioning separately of the Wifi. This definitely sounds like either a software or hardware issue. To resolve the software side, I would recommend performing a clean install of your OEM operating system. Once it is complete, test your Bluetooth. If it works with the OEM load then it would indicate there was a software problem with the driver.

If the problem persists, please contact our technical support in your region for assistance.
