Install New Hard Drive in 3620

Have a 3620. Trying to load the acer Win 8 operating system onto a new hard drive. Have new set of acer install disks; a total of 5. Followed the limited instructions acer provided with the disks: set 1st boot device to CD/DVD, place first disk in drive and do a cold boot to initalize the install. All 5 disks load without problem or error message. Then when the install reboots the machine at the end of the process, get error msg, "system encountered unexpected restart or problem" and instructs me to start the entire process from the beginning.

Have done four additional installs including hot and cold boots with no change in messages or the outcome. Can anyone shed some knowledge and enlighten a puzzled acer customer?
