Acer Switch 10 Battery Charging Problem.

Hi

Got my Switch 10 about 7 days ago and it does some very erratic things when charging.

I leave it to charge overnight and on the first night it only charged to 67%. When I unplugged the charger and pluged it back in again it charged up to 97% then stopped again.

Same problem the next morning but it charged to 88% but again if unplugged and then back in again charged to 100%.

Noticed on here a post about power cycling should sort out windows reading the battery level.Took 2 days to run it down until it turned off, then put it on charge and it only got to 80%. But again if unplugged and plugged in again it woud charge to 100%.

Ran it down to about 57% and put it on charge and it charged back to 100%.

Ran it down until it turned off again and put it on charge over night but by the morning it was only charged to 33%.

It shows that its charging but does not move above there and once again if you unplug it and plug in again it starts charging again.

The battery clearly can be charged to 100% and I cant complain about its life once charged as it can take me best part of 2 days to drain it flat. Also cant complain about charge time as when I have been watching it it will charge what seems to me pretty fast. Until it stops.

But i cant have it that it is randomly only charges to 33%.

I neeed it for work.

Totally love the device but this is a deal breaker.

Please help someone.

Nick

I am unable to duplicate the behavior you are describing on my switch 10. My best recommendation would be to try to reset the device to see if it resolves your issue. If it does not, there may be a problem with the battery or product, and I suggest you contact technical support in your regions.

There seem to be a lot of battery issues going on. The best monitor I've seen is  BatteryInfoView . Might download and see what it says particularly the mWh remaining and the milliWatt discharge/charge rate.

My first thought is that "something" is overheating and shutting down, might try putting a fan on the PC  and wall wart and see if there is any change.
