Display Screen Doesn't Match Monitor Size

Hi all, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I have an Acer S240HL monitor which I was using with my Acer PC without any problems. However, the hard drive on my PC packed up and so I have just bought a new ASUS tower unit. When I plugged the Acer monitor into the tower there is a black perimeter around the outside of the screen - about an inch thick. Is there any reason why this would happen/anything I can do to resolve this?

Many thanks

You need to adjust the scaling option of your Graphics card to make the display screen match the monitor size.

You need to open device manager  >  expand display adapter  > check the name of the display adapter.

Then you will find the application of your display card.

For example if your computer has a ATI video card you will find ATI Catalyst Control Center App for adjusting the settings of the display adapter.
In the ATI Catalyst Control Center, click Graphics on the upper left and then select Desktops & Displays.

On the Desktops & Displays screen, right click on display 1 on the bottom left corner of the screen and click Configure.
On the DVT screen, click the Scaling Options tab and then move the slider to 0%.
