I have the black screen of death on my Aspire one 532h.

Can anyone help me download something to fix my Aspire one 532h.  It is obviously out of warranty (just barely).

    Lights?

    Power with battery?

    with adapter?

Some additional information to help troubleshoot the issue would be appreciated.

    When does it occur?

Do you get anything on the screen at any time?

I just can't turn the thing on at all.  It won't power up.  I believe the adapter & power cord are working fine.  With the power cord plugged in, I push the power button to turn it on and nothing happens except the little icon with a light bulb picture blinks once.  This started one night while I was working online and it just went blank & turned off like the battery died.  I charged it up but now it just won't turn back on.   I heard I could flash BIOS?

If you cannot power the system, you will be entirely unable to flash the BIOS.

Why would you need to flash the BIOS for a power system issue?

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.

I recently encountered this 'black screen of death' problem on my aspire one 532h and I tried everything to re-flash the bios - without success as my AO532h would not even read the usb drive. I even completely dismantled my laptop to check if the cmos battery might not be flat.
It turned out that the problem was a faulty memory. Fortunately I still had an old 1gb ram that I replaced and it started to work! So if you encounter the problem and cannot get the usb bios reflash to work, that might be the same problem.

Try to get hold of an other memory ram to check if it works.
