Hello,

I recently bought Aspire E5-521G with AMD R5 m240 graphic which should have 1gb of dedicated video memory. Atleast desciption of computer said that before i bought it. When I got pc, I noticed that it has 2gb of dedicated video memory. Ant the thing is that it has not only r5, but r4 graphics also. Before I got this pc I had one with intel hd 4400 graphics with only 32mb of dedicated video memory. And the thig is that I could play GTA IV on that computer with medium graphics settings. But I can't do it on this computer wit 2gb of dedicated video memory. So what's the problem? The only thig that get me to buy this pc was that r5 graphics card with 1gb of dedicated video memory. And when I got ir I has also some kind of amd r4 graphics card.. And anyways. How it is possible that intel hd graphics with 32mb of dedicated video memory has better gmaing experience that r5 with 1gb of dedicated video memory?

Is there any way to fix this? I mean I can't change anything in bios because it has insydeh2o bios which is locked so theres no options in bios. AMD Contror Panel has options just for "power saving" and "maximum performace" and those isn't helpfull at all. Is there any way to enable fixed graphics or somethig like that?

Any help would be grateful.

Regards, Ausrius.

As it turns out, r5 graphics works just fine. Apparently intel hd graphics 4400 with intel core i5 had kind a good gaming experience for gta iv. And I was expecting more from r5. And there's still something wrong with gta iv. Despite all of that that I have max graphics settings for gta iv, amd system monitor shows that it's using 60-80% of r5 and 80% of precessor. But the thing is that I can play with those settings without any lag only if I keep view distance below 20%. If I increase it like to 50% I'm starting to see lag. And despite of anything game is still using above 80% of fraphics and above 80% of precessor. So that was it. No problem with switchable graphics. Oh, and it works great by the way. I like how things are working.
