Half of monitor dims (not completely dark)

The past few weeks my half of my screen will randomly dim.  Usually if I unplug it or hit the input button, which then cycles through VGA, DVI, etc, it will resolve temporarily.  Sometimes for an hour, sometimes for 5 minutes.  

 

Othertimes if I walk away and let it sit, it will fix itself as well.  I also have tried the unplug, hold the power in for 30 seconds cause of static thing too, didn't work.

 

Does anyone have any clue what is going on?  Is my monitor hosed?

 

I have a G6 Series G246HLA 24" which I bought literally almost 6 months ago brand new (4/8/14) along with a brand new computer running Win8

If it does the same thing on a different computer, it is probably a problem with the monitor LCD that needs repair. I would call Acer to see if you are in warranty.
