Can I add a SSD to Acer Aspire E5-551-89TN?

Hi,

I'd like to buy an Acer Aspire E5-551-89TN and add an SSD. My main question is if this is possible? It seems to me that on most laptops, upgrading your harddrive is doable but I just want to make sure before I buy it. So if it is possible, then my second question is is there a manual or anything that talks about how to do it or what type/size/shape etc to buy? I can probably figure most of that stuff myself but if there is an official publication from Acer, that would be great!

I know similar things have been mentioned but not for this specific machine so I just want to be super sure that you can change the hard drive on this one. Thanks for the help!

  • Yes you can replace your HDD with a SSD.The only instruction I could find was for memory. They show a small door on the bottom you can open for memory, but nothing for HDD so, I'm guessing you have to remove the whole bottom. For most applications a 250/256 SSD is sufficient, but if you feel you need more go with a 500 or 1 TB.
