Recover factory default OS

Hi,

 

My Windows is corrupt and I am trying to restore the factory settings. The eRecovery Manager runs but perform no action when I select restore system. It shows a progress bar with please wait and it stays there forever.

Similarly when I try to bring up the boot menu by pressing Alt + F10 at boot time. I only see one option i.e. boot from partition 3 which is the partition where corrupt windows is installed.

Using any boot CD I can see there are four partitions and first one PQSERVICE has all the windows files.

Second one is a small system partition and third and fourth are my C: and drives

 

Unfortunately I did not have system restore disks.

Any help would be much appreciated.

PQSERVICE is the hidden restoration partition on the system.

 

ALT+F10 should take you into the eRecovery console, rather than a boot menu.

 

Depending on the age of the system, you may be able to get some recovery media at the Acer store by clicking on eRecovery.
