Acer Iconia A3-A10 Recent Update (Caused it to boot loop):

Hey guys, I recently received my tablet back from the repair depot due to a boot loop error from an update. My tablet was rooted, so I'm thinking that rooting was the issue. I'm now getting the same update, and I don't know if it is safe to install it. My device came back unrooted, by the way. It was an update in regards for "preparation for the 4.4 update". Should I install or nor? I'm tired of seeing the update notification.

Rooting your device does cause significant problems with OTA updates, especially the KitKat upgrade. You might want to think about leaving it  stock until the upgrade is complete and stable.

My tablet is not rooted, now. It seemed that Acer simply flashed the stock image.

That's normal, they pretty much always start their diagnostics from a stock image. I was suggesting you stay stock until you are sure it's working right after the upgrade.

I just want to know if it's safe to install, since the last one bricked the device. I heard that it was a problem with most users who were rooted. I just don't want to end up sending this tablet back to Acer again.

Ah, but you aren't rooted. You have a box-stock build in it now.

I know. My only question is: should I install the update?

Yes, I think you should, and test it for a while to make sure you're comfortable with it before starting any more mods.

Yes, thank you. I'll wait rot the 4.4 update, then I'll reroot it.
