Purchased Aspire S3 on Sept.11/13. Hardrive crapped out in August. Due to holidays etc...I did not contact Acer until Sept.17, a full 6 days after the 1 yr warranty date.

So after entering the SID it immediately tells me out of warranty and transfers me to a non Acer after warranty call center. There is NO option to actually speak to a representative at this point. The same result occurs via online attempts to contact a rep.

Fuurther ttempts to actually call Acer and speak to an actual person to discuss this matter reasonably seems to be basically impossible. There appears to be no email or customer service number to call without entering the SID and immediately being taken away from Acer.

I did trick my way through the Acer 1-800 system by not entering the SID and did speak briefly to a tech in India who told me there was no other email or contact number for me to call someone from Acer to discuss this matter.

I may have extended warranty due to credit card used to purchase the product but that is not the issue.

My last 3 computer/lap top purchases have been Acer. After this experience I can say I will never purchase an Acer product again. That will also include their sister companies, Gateway, e-machine or Packard Bell. If anyone is aware of any other Acer associtated companies please let me know so I can avoid them also.

For one of the largest computer corporations in the world I am truly disappointed in the protective shield they have established to shield themselves from dealing with any customer contact outside of their warranty period.

So Acer.....even in the event that my issued had actually occured 6 days outside the warranty period I can not express my true disappointment (without profanity) that any company would not work to resolve the issue in a fair and reasonable manner.

Good bye Acer.

    Hi shadowrick,

I'm sorry for the frustation and I understand that warranty dates can cause some issue as users exit their warranty entitlement period. We don't want to leave you with that taste in your mouth. I'll be glad to help get you some assistance.

If you would, please private message me your contact information and Serial Number.

    Thanks,
    Cory
