Aspire M3802 not starting immediately

Until recently my Aspire M3802 desktop started immediately when the start button was pressed. For about a week it's been taking an increasing number of minutes before the the LED turns blue; today it was over ten. What is the likely problem? If accumulated dust how can I remove it? If not dust, what can I do?

  • I would disconnect the computer, take off the side cover, take it outside, take a can of air, and blow it out good.My desktop wouldn't boot and I would blow it out and it would be fine. How old is your HDD? As far as 10 min. to boot, I would try reseting the bios first.Carefully take out the battery on the M/B ,or if you have jumpers use them, for 30 sec. Download Crystal

I bought the computer in 2009. How do I take off the side cover? How do I reset the bios?
  • Go into Bios and load setup defaults  biosexitmenu-exitsavingchanges.jpg

    Disconnect computer from power.

Facing the computer, remove the two screws from the back of the left side and slide cover back and remove.
