Acer m3970 not starting

When I press the on-button on my Acer m3970 (2,5 y old) the fans start and run for a second and the stops. The ODD also starts for a second. That´s all though. No blue lights or anything...

What can it be?

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately it didn't work.

I did as you wrote and tried all combinations switching places and trying just one at a time.

Additional information: When I hit the power button this happens:

    - The cardslots lamp flashes for a split of a second

    - The ODD lamp flashes and makes a spinning noice for a split of a second.

    - All three fans starts and spins for a second and then stops. This continues every 5-6 seconds as long as the power cord is plugged in.

Check if AC power cord is well inserted, then unplug DVD and HDD, with ram modules inserted try to boot to BIOS.

if system still not boot, disconnect the power cord, take off the mainboard battery, wait at least 5 minutes, put back the battery, reconnect the power cable and try to boot to BIOS.

Tried both suggestions but none worked Smiley Sad

Waited almost 10 minutes and even switched to a new battery.

The only lamp that blinks now is the small one that is on the memory card slots. It flashes for a plit second when power buttton is pressed. But after that initial blink the pc is totally dark. Only the fans goes on every 5-6 seconds.

if you have a VGA card, check if it's well inserted, maybe try to remove it and boot.

i know you can't see the video, but this is just to do some troubleshoot.

The system give you any beep?

Tried this also... VGA, HDD, ODD unplugged and still the sameSmiley Sad

    - No beeps.

    - No lights except the card slot led. I now noticed that it flashes every time the fans start. So apparently there is pulses of power being sent into the system.

i suspect a PSU failure but without having the PC on hands, it's very hard to be 100% sure.

Is it easy to install a new psu? I found a seller online that have it.

Yes, nothing so difficult but you need to be sure that it will fit your system.
