My Z5761 has intermittent no display. The screen flashes grey for a second on switch on.

This Z5761 has Windows 7 Ultimate on it. The no display started after it was hot on reboot. It used to be fixed by trying a bootable USB and then rebooting. Now nothing, not even the Aspire logo or setup or anything. You can hear the POST beep and the blue power swith lights up and the horizental blue bar for a few seconds then just the blue power light. The display backlight comes on momentarily on POST. You can hear the rest of the computer booting into windows and the Microsoft chime. You can switch it off blind with the keyboard. An external VGA display does nothing either but does with an HDMI connection. I have tried a new set of RAM chips too. Thank you

If the problem is VGA only, can be a bad cable or loose connection on monitor or VGA side.

If you already tried a new cable, the issue can be monitor or VGA side.

Thank you. The VGA cable is okay. The computer will now only give a picture on an external monitor connected via HDMI. However the touch screen is still working and everything else except there is no display.

Oh sorry, i just saw it's an All-in-one device.

if you disconnect the HDMI cable and try to boot pressing F2 (enter BIOS), screen will work or is still black?

if it's still black (no image) i suspect an hardware failure, since it's not related to any software.
