Aspire 5-581T audio drivers not properly downloading

I've been working on this issue on my own for about a week now. I'm not entirely sure how to start explaining, so I'll just do a rundown of the noticable issues.

 

Hovering over the speaker icon gives me the text, "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." I use the internal speakers, and I always have my headphones plugged in. Audio playback troubleshooting doesnt give me anything (though at one point during my progress, it said that my audio device was disabled.) 

 

Device management has been confusing at best. I can't seem to get the Realtek W8.1 drivers to properly download, even after finding the Acer-support driver.

 

I can post screenies of my devmgmt or my dxdiag if it'll help.

 

Thanks for reading! This seems like a common-ish issue, but I feel like my paticular problem has been made much worse by my tinkering.

Hi Anathela,

 

please post a screenshot of your device manager with sound tree expanded, please also make a screenshot of playback devices (right click on the speaker icon near the clock and choose "playback devices)

 

by the way you can also try to uninstall Acer Realtek drivers from "program and features) and download standard Realtek drivers from Realtek website:

In my opinion, right click on the 2 high definition audio device and choose uninstall.
Install the realtek drivers from my link above and reboot your OS.

As per your previous instructions, I uninstalled those ugly HD audio drivers, reinstalled the realtek driver( from the man. website) and rebooted. Heres my device manager.

Here's the error message I recieve when I try to update the driver.

Without uninstalling devices, re-launch the realtek installer.

 

EDIT: if the yellow exclamation mark persist, please double click it, then go to "details" tab, from the drop down menu choose "HardwareIDs", click on the first value and copy/paste it here.

Realtek is correct....

 

let's try another uninstall, right click and uninstall on the yellow exclamation mark, then click on scan for hardware changes (the last icon on the right side of top bar)

For those curious about the solution....well after entering an infinite loop of error1 and error14 on Realtek drivers and device manager (there was a service that blocked the whole thing, delaying its start and was impossible to recover), we decided that an OS refresh was the quickiest way to stop that loop.
