Acer Aspire T761 Freezing & Blocking Router.

Hi all. I wonder if anyone could possibly help me with the strangest PC problem that I have ever encountered!? I wanted a dual-core PC to connect to my non-smart TV and so I swapped an old laptop for an Acer Aspire T761. I installed a Pallit GeForce GT210 graphics card with HDMI out and connected it to my TV. Great so far! I noticed on start up that there seemed to be two versions of Windows 7 installed (the first one works but the second one doesn't) The PC boots up fine and everything is great but every now and then the whole PC seems to suddenly freeze! If I am playing music or watching a video there is an awful repetitive 'stuck' sound. The mouse cursor won't move and I cannot do anything. Strangely the CD drives will still open and close if I press the button!?? It has become really annoying now. I noticed that the graphics card required 300 watts of power but the standard PSU was only 250W so I installed a new 500W PSU. That didn't help. I thought there may be a virus or malware so I ran scans with AVG free + Malwarebytes. Both found malware and PUPs and removed them. My PC seemed fine for almost a week, Cracked it! I thought, but no. It has started doing it again. Ran both scans again but this time found nothing. Can anyone plz give me any suggestions? Here's some more info: The PC came with 2 x 1GB sticks of ram. I ran the Crucial scanner and bought two more 1GB sticks of ram (= 4GB) and installed them but no matter which way I install them, the system will only show 2.75GB of ram!! ?? My Network: Acer Aspire T761 connected to an LG Plasma TV via HDMI TalkTalk Fibre Router (connected via ethernet) to my PC + WD MyBookLive Network Storage Device (also connected to my Sky+HD box and an Xbox360) *Now here's the strangest thing, the PC will freeze randomly at any time. When it does this, it also knocks out my internet connection! As long as the PC is 'frozen' then so is the router!! When my son is playing on his Xbox (connected via WiFi) in his bedroom, he is disconnected from Xbox Live. My phone loses it's WiFi connection and any other device which is connected will lose it's connection. Sometimes the PC will stay like like this for between 1 to 10mins and will suddenly start working again as if nothing has happened. Sometimes I have to switch off the PC and reboot. Even more curious is that if I hold in the PC's power button and it shuts down, the router will still not work until I reboot the PC ! ! ! How can the PC effect the router in this manner?? I am totally baffled. . Someone plz help!
