How do we get our full size working screen back?  It reduced itself to 3 1/2"x 2 1/4" (approximately) on startup.

FRUSTRATED!

Wow! That's one I've never heard of. That sounds like exactly 1/4 screen. Is it in the center or in a corner? Does it move around whe you rotate the screen? Does it show the whole screen or act as a window to the larger screen, showing only 1/4 of the Windows screen?

Thanks for replying - It was about 1/4 of the screen centered in the middle and no it would not right itself when turned.  Somehow the screen resolution changed but i never did anything to change it.  Thankfully there was a Window 8 class at the local library and the library tech fixed the problem in about 1 minute!  He typed control panel into the search and reset the screen resolution to the recommended or default setting.

BEWARE = I tried to find help for this problem with many internet searches and ended up in a chat with a so called tech support person who told me that files and drivers were corrupted or infected.  He tried to talk me into taking control of the computer and fixing the problem for a fee which i rejected.

Good instincts there, the overwhelming majority of that type of thing are scams, as likely to install their virus as anything else.

Glad you got it fixed, I would have pointed in that direction myself, though probably through a right click on the desktop then Screen Resolution on the menu that opens.
