My Acer Aspire 5600u-ur308 won't power on. No power on star-up.

Unit will not power on. What could be the problem? I think it could be a minor problem. I have a used (Acer Aspire

5600U-UB25) for spair parts which I purchased on eBay and was wondering if I could repair my Acer Aspire 5600U-UR308 with the same parts? The specs should be the same. I was going to swap the digitizer glass which is cracked on the UB25 I just purchased from eBay but it is missing hard drive and windows 8 operating system. The differace between both units is the UB25 has a i5 intel prossesor and UR308 has a i3 intel. Could you give me some advice on which unit to keep as a good running unit/ And what is the difference between the two? Personally I think it could be the power converter which needs replaceing and if so, I could swap out from the other unit, if so please let me know. Thanks KG.

The differences between the two systems is minor, and most if not all components should be fairly interchangeable. It is really hard to say the best way to combine the two systems, without knowing exactly what component failed to cause it not to power on. There is also no way to know the extent of any physical damage to the system with the cracked screen. Maybe another community member can give you better suggestions, but without testing components, I would just be guessing if I tried to tell you where to start.
