White screen on acer aspire s3-915

Purchased my acer aspire in 2912. Haven't had any issues with the product until recently.

There is a white screen when I turn on my laptop. I am currently only able to use my computer when it is plugged into the TV and using the tv screen to view my computer,

I have tried resetting the computer by "removing" the battery, I have also let the computer attempt to load for over an hour and that hasn't worked either.

I called the service centre today and was told that I would have to pay the $360 repair fee.

However through research I have found this to be a common issue and that it happens very often with this model laptop.

No one at the centre offered me any help in fixing it, I was told that all I could do was send it off for repair and see what would happen.

I don't think this acceptable as it is a known issue with this model and why should I have to pay for a known issue.
I have had no help In trying to repair it at home or try any home solutions. I would like to try these before I go and spend $360 on repairs that is a known fault with the laptop anyway.

Firstly, I think you make a mistake about the ultrabook model : Aspire S3-951 (2012).

You have two possibles causes (it works with the TV):

1- LCD cable. 30 USD but many work.

2- LCD panel complet (with housing). About 100 USD.

3- If you make yourself, you win 260 USD!!!

 

To help you, I need the first ten letter/number (only) of the S/N indicated on the label (lower case).

You have an other solution to fix your screen. This one is more easy than change the complet screen.
