video card replacement on Aspire timeline x 3820t

my daughter spilled a bottle of water on her Aspire Timeline X 3820t. We have dried it out and got the data off the hard drive. I have reset the factory setting successfully but by the time the computer is ready to run the screen goes blank until I let it cool off again. A local computer shop said it was likely the video card but it wasn't worth fixing. She has since bought a new computer but I would like to try to fix it. I can't get it apart and can't find instructions on line to disassemble it. Does anyone have a link to instructions? Can the video card be replaced easily or is it soldered on? Is the part expensive? I tried going on the Acer site to ask these questions but the machine is out of warranty and I don't want to pay for the answers if I should just scrap the computer.

The video solution in this model is integrated into the motherboard itself and can not be replaced separately.  If the unit seems to be overheating, it is possible that the fan in the unit is not working properly and could cause the unit to shutdown to prevent damage. Unfortunately with the water spill, it could be a wide range of problems that could cause the issue you're experiencing. It would be best to completely disassemble the unit and dry all components before applying any further power to the system.
