I own an Acer S3-951, and I'm looking for an upgrade to something newer and more powerful.
Coming to the Acer website, I was surprised to find that most Acer notebooks now have touchpads which are offset from the screen. In the past, I've owned notebook computers with offset touchpads, and I do not like them. I don't want to get into a discussion about the ergonomics of the keyboard and touchpad; the bottom line is that I'm not interested in buying any notebook with an offset touchpad.
That seems to leave me with just one choice: The Aspire S3-391-9415. That is essentially the same computer I have now, with a few marginally improved specs and a couple of reduced specs (e.g. hard drive capacity is less). It is hardly the upgrade I was hoping for.
Before I give up, I'd like to make sure I'm not missing anything. Did I fail to notice other models with on-center touchpads? Or is there an option to customize the layout of models which normally have offset touchpads?
