V5-531 4xxx CPU Upgrde?

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but haven't found an answer so please bear with me. I have a V5-531 4896CA  with the B967 CPU which as you know is the weak spot on this machine. I actually love the machine for it's light weight and full size form factor. I've upgraded the ram to 8Gb and I've replaced the drive with an SSD so performance is much improved over stock. Obviously I've had the machine apart to replace the drive, so I'm familiar with the layout. Only thing I haven't done is examine the mainboard in great detail.

My queston is whether I can replace the B967 CPU with an i5 out of a later V5 like the i5 3317U or the later 4000 series out of the more current W8 V5s.  I haven''t had the heatsink/fan assembly off the mainboard so I don't know if the cpu is soldered to the board or if it's a typical plug in laptop cpu module or even a traditional desptop style socket. If the CPU swap isn't possible what about just swapping the entire mainboard? Any useful advice wood be good. I'd like to get past the CPU bottleneck on this thing, right now the proc is the only thing keeping my V5 from being a fantastic true ultrabook at a great price.

Thanks,

Carl
