Please help acer support as of the latest update my tablet is glitching and skipping when playing music, this happens on internal speakers, external speakers and bluetooth speakers.  It happens in google pay music, built in music player, es media player and pretty much every other app that plays music.

If you reset the tablet, does the sound still skip?  Maybe an incompatible App or some software on the tablet. There is another thread that may help. http://community.acer.com/t5/Android-Tablets/Iconia-A1-810-Sound-problem-kitkat/td-p/274088/page/1

Indeed does appear on a clean (factory reset) device.

No apps apart of Google Music, no ads, no games, strong wifi, a clean factory 'as is' release, with latest updates applied.

But it doesn't affect all devices (mine for example) so this will be a tough one to diagnose. (mine was factory reset before and after the KItKat upgrade but I have no idea whether that's relevant)

I have done the same, complete factory reset and only install google play music, same issue. It appears to only do it for downloaded google play all access music not mp3's I put on my device manually and play through the google play music app.

I wonder if that means the issue is in DRM decoding then? Are the downloaded music files also .mp3s?

I noticed that   issue is only for MP3's .

When I'm using Buble player with its own FLAC decoder , there isn't such issue.

So the issue is different for different people. It happens for you with mp3s and doesn't happen with mp3s when coolcalmcollect uses them. Curiouser and curiouser...

No . it is not  different .

When Bubble player uses android FLAC decoder, the isuue is here Smiley Sad , so it is not mp3 , FLAC , ACC ot else related,

It is Kitkat related, because when I'm using non-android decoder ( for example internal application decoder),

everything is fine. But I dont want to write my own application and my own decoder, just to listen mp3's

Even more - , I noticed that the issue is CPU frequency related - When I keep CPU

busy (at 1200 MHz) there are almost no glitches.... almost. So, I suggest it is happened on low CPU frequency

    i.e 500 or less MHxz.

Indeed , my tablet is A3-A10 , not A1 .. .but...  the same sound issue after KitKat upgrade.

Nothing strange here , if company like Acer can not find root cause and fix the issue for months, I'll  will not buy

    never again their products.

Till now - nothing helps -  factory reset and so on... I'll try to instal JellyBean  if I find such image.

Hmmm,i wonder if this bug is somewhere in the part of operating systems audio codec, and firmware,I'm not entirely sure but I know a regular MP3 player has an audio chip that's responsible for decoding the data from the audio wavelengths qnd then recompiles the interpreted/decoded data, then converts it using  its audio processor, the problem could very well be that the bug is causing errors in the audio firmware, and is dousing the audio processor to misinterpret the data from the wavelenth, thus causing the bug.(this is just my guess, so don't take my word for it,i just understand some info on circuits by opening up my old devices and studying the parts of the solid state hardware.)

My device has worked just fine since the KitKat upgrade, it weird how its doing that for you folks. Although it is dumb how there is no more flash support. To be honest, I did like the way jelly bean functions better but kitkit has better looks and better RAM management, that's why I upgraded.

So , somenthing here helps , might be :

    1 . USB debuging ON

    2. failed root attempt.

I dont know, but now music is fine again.

Mine is 840 and it also has some horrible audio crackling. Especially when using wifi and bluetooth.
