Need driver update procedure for Aspire v5-122p-0600 on win8.1 since not working!

Hi Support Team,

I recently bought an ACER Aspire v5-122p-0600  machine and I am having lots of issues with the touchpad.

My PC was updated to Win8.1 and touchpad was still working erratic and I follow the intructions to update the Sinaptic Driver and Elan Driver.

Even by performing such updates it didn't work and impacted keyboard behaviour. So finally, I rolled back to original drivers by using Acer application. I wonder if you can provide an specific driver for this machine to make Touchpad work in Win8.1 support.

Thanks in advance,

Gisela.

Does device mgr show any problems? What touchpad version numbers did you try to install?

    Hi Jack,

First of all thanks for your prompt response. It is highly appreciated.

I've tryed installing different drivers version:

    +TouchPad_Synaptics_v17.0.6.13_W81x64_A

    +TouchPad_Synaptics_16.3.12.34_W8x64_A

    +Synaptics_v17_0_19_C_XP32_Vista32_Win7-32_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Acme_Inc

and finally since it din't worked, I assumed probably my PC has Elan Touchpad and  I've tryed the elantech versions unsuccessfully:

    +TouchPad_ELANTECH_v11.6.27.201_W81x64_A

    +TouchPad_ELANTECH_11.6.22.201_W8x64_A

Could you confirm which is the virsion I have (Synaptics or Elantech)?

Now I am wondering if I should roll back to Win8 since (although I only tested it for a few hours before updating it to win 8.1), it was working properlly.

    Any clue is highly appreciated.

Sorry, no. But if you tried both the Syn and Elan 8.1 drivers downloaded from the Acer support site without success, I suggest that you do an erecovery back to factory installed Win 8  The reason being that there doesn't seem to be any Win 8.1 'upgrade' drivers, suggesting to me the touchpad hardware is not the same for the factory-installed Win8 vs Win8.1 122p machines.

PS: I too have a lot of *issues* with my own touchpad --- erratic behavior is an understatement --- from day one.  So I don't use it. Maybe it's just me. 8^)
