Why is the wiif on the W510 so flaky and slow?

This is my biggest problem with the W510.   The wifi seems to be slow and prone to disconnect very easily.   Why is this?

I tried an updated driver, but that didn't seem to help.   Is the antenna on this in a bad position or something?  Flaky hardware?  Driver?

It's weird.  In my den, which gets good reception with other PCs and my ipad.   The reception looks good, but I get 4-6Mbps download, but 12 Mbps upload on the W510.    This is with a 65Mbps connection to the internet.  So the download speed is showing slower than the upload speed.
This makes me think it is something to do with the driver.

I am connecting to a Linksys EA3500 router.  I have tried using 2.4Ghz and 5ghz N.   5ghz is worse than 2.4.

I don't have a huge house, but the wifi works pretty well for me. The higher UL speed seems very unusual to me. Maybe your device is defective.
