S7-391 - Bios 2.18 utterly devastating, how downgrade to 2.15 or 2.09?

I´m very indignant with the BIOS v. 2.18 that came with the Acer Live-Updater few months ago.

I`ve had no trouble to update BIOS, but there were a lot of problems afterwards.

The problems in detail:

- The systems reacts in every move sticky, not smooth like at the beginning. Moving mouse only with delay, if you type in start-screen, the letters come step by step with delay too.

- Search in explorer takes very long (over 3 min for a simple file search). Sort the findings takes just as long as the first search

- The complete system reacts like a system with a HDD before hell breaks loose, not like a system with SSD

- To open favorites in IE, FF, Chrome, Opera takes over 20 sec with ca. 40 entries

- To open a new tab in whatever browser takes over 1 sec

- Open more than 5 tabs will lead to a complete system-hang-up for 10 sec and more

- Open a small image with max. of 100 kb 3-5 sec, regardless which picture app and regardless if app is already open or not

- Big decreases in gaming, e.g. AION before 27 fps, now 3-15 fps; the same in non online games e.g. simple point-and-click-adventures like Testament of Sherlock Holmes - which ran before smoothly, now lags

- The Windows Experience Index (WEI) drops down from nearly 5 to now 3 for graphics

- Event viewer frequently informs Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power Event ID 37 ("The speed of processor x in group x is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for xxx seconds since the last report") - not in battery mode but in AC-mode with no power safe mode on

- etc....

It seems that the BIOS update to 2.18 to "Improve thermal performance" only reduces the pc performance by downscaling the system. Slightly less fan activity (and still high case temperature) but dramtically less system performance.

Cause at nearly the same time Windows 8.1 Update 1 was rolled out, first i thought the problems are result of of the update like the minimal driver probs after upgrade from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1. As a consequence i searched various websites, forums, blogs etc. without an really relevant solution. Too much options and no successful hint, only the often advise to look at the power settings in BIOS or for a new BIOS from the manufacturer.

Now i´m really sure, problems with Windows 8.1 Update 1 are not the reason! Cause meanwhile i made a complete reset to factory settings, but with these settings the system hangs nonetheless, the same performance lags like before. As a result only the BIOS update should do the trick.

The try to rollback the BIOS-Update to 2.15 failed with error i would have a newer version (yep, i was aware of it). The postings http://community.acer.com/t5/Ultra-Thin/S7-391-NEW-BIOS-2-18-decrease-the-performance-of-graphic/m-p/218505/highlight/true#M7358 didn´t help me.

Can you tell me detailed how to downgrade to v2.15? In the actual situation no reasonable working is possible.

kind regards

Potrimpo
