Acer X223w Monitor will not turn off or come out of power saving mode

My Acer X223w monitor seems to be stuck in power saving mode.  The light down by the power button keeps flashing and it sounds like the monitor is about to display.  The button starts to flash in a yellowish color.  I usually use it using the

DVI cable into a ATI All in Wonder graphics card.  I can't even turn it off using the power button.  I have to unplug it.  It seems to be stuck in the power saving mode since the power saving mode is yellow.  When the light is blue, it is ready to display.  Is there anything that can be done for this monitor.  It is not the display adapter card or the built in graphics in the motherboard.  I tried the monitor on another machine and it didn't work.  I am convinced it is the monitor.  I had it for 10 years.  Is there anything that I can do to make this work properly besides replacing the monitor?  Thank you in advance if you have a solution for me.
