Hooray, I am here,, I have been circling round the net getting in to all the places I did not know were there.

Hi, I am new to this, I am one of your oldies, sorry about that, but we all hope to get there in time.   My new Acer, another 'hooray' here I think.   I had my old computer for ten years, a century in computer life.   I kept thinking 'Must get another' but it worked so kept going till it stopped.

What di I have to tell you...... I am an 87 year old woman, live on the east Coast in England, bit cold here.  spent child hood in Rawalpindi, till war started, came 'home' finished school, became a nurse, married an RAF man.  Six children,. divorced in my mid fifties,  live in my lovely flat,, rented, housing authoraty, so you can see am not hugely well off,, but a very happy oldie.

Hullo Nas,, How lovely to hear from you..... I was a child in Pindi, and am getting on for 90 now.      So all is very much changed, I am afraid I was there in the days of the British Raj.  My father was in the , 'in those days'  1st Indian division Army,,, As you must know, the Indian ???? army was made of English men then......

I knew nothing of politics,,, I left when I was 13,, I loved it there, and when we went up to Upper Topa in the summer it was heaven .  I have some words of Hindi left,, mostly the , 'Whats the time'  and 'How much' type of thing.

How I hated England, dark. cold, horrible.     But I got used to it... My regards to your parents.  Elizabeth.

Do you remember any Urdu/ Panjabi, or did you only speak english out there.

I had an English lecturer at University he spoke fluent urdu (seemed so funny to me that he could speak it better than i could)
