Dear All
My 8 months old Acer S7-391 has stopped recogmizing the web camera. I'm not sure when it happened but i recently tried to do a video call with Skype only to be informed by the software that no camera has been detected. When i tried to locate it manualy through the camera app again the app told me that no camera is found. Any ideas of what the problem could be and how to fix it? Don't really want to go down the system restore route. Also there is no driver on acer website for my model, why is that?

You may first need to check if your device is displayed in your Device Manager and also to troubleshoot issues with it (if any). To do this, refer to "To manage devices" section on the following Microsoft support page:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/add-view-manage-devices-printers
(Important: If your device is not displayed at all in Device Manager, we recommend you to contact Acer Support for further assistance as your laptop is under warranty. You can reach Acer Support through the following link:
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support )
If you were able to locate your device in Device Manager but following the troubleshooting steps in the above link did not resolve your issue, you can try updating your webcam drivers. To do this, click on the following link, then go to "Installing drivers yourself" section, and then go to "To manually install a driver" section:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/all-drivers
If you want Windows to automatically recommend you the latest drivers and updates for your device, follow the instructions on the Microsoft support page below:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/automatically-get-recommended-drivers-and-updates-for-your-hardware
Hope this will resolve your issue.
