Hi, I am using Acer P196HQV monitior for past 3 years without any problem. But recently when I tried to increase the brightness while a video was playing the screen goes complete black. I connected it to may laptop to verify the monitor problem. And found that the monitor screen comes alive under resolution 800 x 600 to 1280 x 768. But when I tried 1360 x 768 resolution, it starts to flicker leaving a portion on left blank. And on 1366 x 768 resolution screen goes complete black.

Recently I upgraded my desktop to Intel Core i3 (Windows 8) from AMD Anthlon XP 2400+ (Windows XP).

Please help me to solve this problem.

Thanks.

How are you connecting your monitor (DVI, HDMI, or VGA)?

What is the maximum resolution your graphics card supports?

I am using Acer P196HQV monitior. It's has a VGA connection only.

No graphics card installed. So, It is using the Intel HD 4400 Graphics that comes with Intel Core i3 processor.

I don't know the maximun resoluton it supports. But it does recognises the monitor with its model name and shows "1366x768" as recommended resolution.  At present I m using "1280x800" resolution which is working fine. As soon as I apply the recommended setting, screen goes black.

Note: 1366x768 resolution was working fine earlier to this problem.

    Thanks for replying Smiley Happy

If you have tried on multiple computers that can support that resolution and tried multiple cables, it sounds like a hardware issue. We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.
