I am having problems creating a USB recovery drive with a new Aspire E1-571, the software simply hangs when nearly finished. This is a brand new laptop and running windows 8, nothing has been done on it and the usb pen is a brand new 32GB Kingston pen.

Can someone from Acer contact me because I cannot even get in contact regarding warranty because the S/N and SNID are both not recognised. For a new laptop this has not been a good start to say the least.

Also if any one has any ideas with the above that would be great,

Hi There, I am in N. Ireland. The usb pens have been formatted and I have tried both usb pens in different slots. Today I done a restore of the laptop and tried the backup process again with my usb pens and again it has failed. I have tried it with the antivirus off and on and changed the power options to never turn off when plugged in and it still fails.

Notablly there is very little happening in the task manager and the blue light for hard disk activity on the front off the laptop is blinking like mad.

    Any ideas,

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

I purchased a new Aspire E1-571 two months back, after my Dell gave up the ghost... I have tried to use the recovery manager also, to build an image... I have purchased three USB stick, a 16gb when this failed another 16gb stick and when this continually failed a 32gb... and guess what, yep this also failed..

I was advised to turn of McAffe, and that still failed.... I have now removed Mcafee, and yep the recovery manager still hangs...

And guess what, Acer do not offer a Recovery DVD for this model... so that blows that idea...

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue... and as per someother site don't say buy a Dell...

Hard drive light flashes like mad, but file space used stops at 13.3 GB on all three usb sticks... The process locks at this point on every occasion .... Is there a fault with the installed image...

    Regards

    Dave
