Linux for Acer Laptop

Does anyone have a solution as to how you can convert an Aslpire 1362 to use Linux?

Acer says that it does not support Linux, which is very disappointing, as I thought Acer was a good product, and after 10 years of using their product I'm looking at having to switch switch to another mfg.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can give a try to Linux with a LiveCD and see if it will run.

    Something like Ubuntu:

    http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.04/ubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386.iso

it's an iso image to burn in a DVD or USB pen then you need to select the Boot device and follow instruction to start the LiveCD.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

I ahve tried the live CD, and it does not work, which caused me to call Acer support and was told Tha model would not run Linux.  so I was hoping to find out if anyone else in the community might have been successful seom other way.

would be nice to know what aspect of the Aspire blocks Linux.  I've not heard anything form the Linux community.

Not feelign happy with Acer at the moment, as I now have a $1500 paperwieght.

It will work, you need to change bios settings from Secure UEFI to Legacy boot.
