Hi! I have an ACER Aspire V5 552G since December 2013. Everything is ok, works fine, low time up boot, smooth, sound etc. But it has a problem with video card. I installed Windows 8.1 certified and even now with the latest drivers from amd the problem persists. The drivers from acer site don't work.

Description: sometimes, from time to time even you're on youtube or do nothing for less than a second the screen flickers (like as connecting a video projector). In this time the netbook doesn't stop or doesn't run bad..only the flicker. The big problem is that the product has one year of waranty and I cannot show to the re-seller this problem because doesn't appear let's say when I start up and login to windows. It can appear after an uknown time..after 1h..after 2...or can run days without problem. If the product arrive to service (in Bucharest) and will stay 3days without showing the flicker, they will get back to me..

I even tried to reinstall windows and nothing. The system is up to date.

I had initially uefi 2.0.5 and I upgraded to 2.0.7...and no results. I don't play games. I even have a bottom cooler.

I tried all the drivers for Windows 8.1 since 13.250 and nothing changed.

Sometimes I saw this message on top of the clock : "Display Driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Why? Is bad the driver? Does the W8.1 have a bug? By the way, this error reffers to the video driver or is in fact an error which is transmitted to the display (screen) only? Even if I use the integrated card or both my screen makes from time to time this flicker. I also saw on the internet that this error message have most of the netbooks with 2 video switchable cards intel-amd or amd-amd radeon.. I don't know what about nvidia.

In the first week when I hadn't the windows I installed with bios, not uefi a Linux Mint to test the netbook. I also installed the linux video driver but I don't remember to make this figure with flicker.
