Acer S500: Phone keeps randomly going on vibrate

Hi Guys

Got myself an Acer S500

Everythings seems to be going ok, apart from the fact that the phone keeps going on Vibrate for no reason.

On the internet , the most common questions asked are :

1. Are you accidentally pressing the volume rocket.

- No

2. Do you have an app which is causing it?

- No

3. Does it happen in your pocket? maybe its accidental

- No, sometimes after using an app, i go back to home screen and its on vibrate

4. Have you done a full reset

- Yes - 2 times, it still happens.

I keep contacting Acer customer service but no one ever responds from the NL branch (uk reply but say they cannot help as its in a different country)

Is anyone else experiencing this at all?

Hi,

You say: "No, sometimes after using an app, i go back to home screen and its on vibrate"; just to be sure: which kind of apps are those? Specific, or is it completely random?

Do you have customised ringtones, or something like that? Or using pre-installed sounds only?

thanks for the reply

I figured out that it was an app which I had downloaded. A reminder app.

it had an unusual setting 'Turn phone on vibrate after alarm'

So if anyone else is have this issue, i would suggest they look at the settings of any apps they have which sends out an audible alarm
